Apparently, I'm a fag.

And Aaron brings shame to every publication he writes for.

The blogger also seems to write for TheDDT, a wrestling site I used to read. So maybe he's just mad about the HHH/Angle thing. Or maybe he's being ironic. I don't know. I was just amused to discover that I share a joint diss with my man.

This guy's got something. Maybe he's just looking for a way to get noticed at Chart.

Hi, I'm the fag that wrote the article.

I was trying to be funny, by the way - I really don't want people to take my URMN missives too seriously. Still, the news post smacked of filler to me. I'm also not fond of the Brophy style of reviewing - he seems a little too glib. Just my take on things, 's all.

I dug the article, personally.

Clearly we have different opinions on the gravity of music journalism. You say filler, I say puff piece. I don't think everything in entertainment reporting has to be serious, especially not a 500 word web story. It got a lot of hits and amused a certain segment of the population and that's all it needed to do.

I still thought that was reaching as a puff piece. It would've worked more in the context of an interview than as a news item, but that's my opinion.

Trust me, I'm the last guy who takes anything seriously. Still, there's just so much in music reporting that really annoys me...maybe I'm taking it out on the wrong people

Yeah, you probably are. Some people thought it was newsworthy and some didn't. It's not exactly indicative of the greater ills of music journalism and I'm sure you've got bigger fish to fry.

Sorry, [info]fodderfigure, but the article he points to seems more about your interests than about the band. It's a funny story, but I would have expected that as a story in your LJ, and not in Chart.

Franz Ferdinand have one album. It's already been out for a year in North
America and they've been covered to death. Everything that people want to know about them can be found in a million different articles. There is nothing left to say about them other than the fact that they apparently read stories about themselves having graphic sex and they think it's funny.

It's not like I'm the only person that likes slash. I knew that it has a pretty big web audience and I knew that people would be interested in reading about it. The only part that belonged in my lj instead of Chartattack is the wrestling part. That was purely for my own amusement. The rest was a wet dream for young indie girls everywhere.

personally, i was pleased to see slash concepts displayed in a non-fandom venue. and why wouldn't it be interesting? it's a nice break from the standard fare. and also, i've always dug aaron's writing.

that was just a lazy article, if you ask me. "oh boy, this isn't the usual music news piece...it must be bad!"
